| Sonshine OWNED. Here's the highlights from my trip:
~Haste the Day Show-Stage dove/crowd surfed for the first time. INSANE pit. ~Crimson Thorn-They remembered everything about me and I got to hang with them a bit before and then after the show. Probably the most brutal pit I've ever seen. ~Mortal Treason-My first time hearing them, they were great. Very small show though, not many kids there. The vocalist was extremely nice and he offered to do prayer requests so after their show I asked him to pray for my bud who's going through a lot of rough times, and he actually sat down in front of me and asked me to tell all I was willing to tell and then said he'd have the whole band pray. Awesome. ~As I Lay Dying-Most crowded show, even compared to Zao...I almost got killed haha. I got to scream into the mic and this dude i was squished up against turned around, looked at me, and went "yeeeEEEEEAHHHHH!!! \m/" and nodded haha. It was funny. ~Zao-Since my new friend Tim (who is quite possibly one of the most awesome guys ever and also very hot) was workin security, I got to hang out with Zao after the show. They signed my shirt :) Dan is probably the most adorable guy I have ever seen in my entire life, seriously haha when he was on stage puffing out his chest like a monkey and then how he'd pace around and just...oh my gosh I was positively smitten :) And he was so incrediably nice, they all were, Scott and Russ were so cool too. I also found a really rare copy of the original All Else Failed so that owned face too. ~Disciple-Now, I don't listen to them but I was waiting for AILD to come on and I was like hmmm I'll check em out...so I stand on the outside of the crowd for a bit and the vocalist has everyone bow heads and hold hands and say a prayer which was really awesome just the things he was saying...I really felt the Spirit there...and then he had us all keep our heads bowed and he had the people who were accepting Christ for the first time in their life raise their hands, and then he had us all look up...I can not describe the feeling I got when I looked up and saw all of those hands. This was a bit much for me heh so I went back to the tent and did some solitary prayer/talking to God for quite some time and man it was just amazing...
Now for the non-show memories... ~Tim. Haha seriously...and this is how we met. I went up there with my best friend Ang and her family (and a few other people) and their family is super good friends with a 20 year old guy named Terry. Terry is like a part of their family. Anywho, he was working security so he got his friend Tim, who is 17, to be security for the HM stage, and me and Tim hung out so much when Ang, Kayla, and Jake had to go home early...and the last night, we hung out from about midnight to 6 am and had some amazing memories looking for the wal-mart and mcdonald's for an hour and a half before realizing that the very first turn we took, we took a wrong turn and if we went the right way it was just down the street haha. Then we sat in his van (he didn't use a tent he slept in his big van) and watched office space and that was fun. He's got a girlfriend though haha so none of you get any ideas...but he did ask for my number and give me a big hug goodbye so we're gonna hang out sometime :) I had a blast with him and we're both planning on going to the zao/dillinger escape plan/every time i die show in a couple months
~Burying myself in grass...I was really bored, so I had Ang's little sister and her friend cover my entire body in piles of grass. We got lots of pictures, and a billion people who passed by got pictures with me or pictures of me...then this group of guys came and helped bury me, and these three guys carrying acoustic guitars around made an improptu song about me, "The Grass Monster," and sang it around me as people walked by. It was hilarious. ~LITTLE MOSHING SKATEBOARDING KID! Seriously, he looked like 6 years old, this insanely precious and adorable little boy who would hang at the skatepark, and then I saw him with his older bro or something at a show and he was headbanging and jumping around all over and i wanted him to be my little brother :) ~Marco Polo! We played this every night, just walked around in the dark and would shout MARCO! and see if campsites would reply. I got hugs for this from random people, and then one boy kissed me on the cheek too when he hugged me :| ~Catch Phrase. I brought my electronic version, and this is what got Tim out of his shell. He was pretty shy til we started to play this but then my stupid actions and explanations got him laughing and we spent soooo long every day playing that game and some hilarious things were said from everyone who played :)
Annnnywho those are all i can remember but I know there is more haha too much to type though. The only thing that sucks is that I came down with something and was sick the day of the Zao show so I almost passed out during the show a few times, and I'm still sick today with a bad stomach ache and a fever...Justin even said on Saturday that I didn't look good so he sent me back to my tent to rest when we were hanging out that afternoon :P All in all though, it was an aamazing experience i will never ever forget. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
